About the artwork

Fructus Somniorum means Fruit of Dreams.

At the centre of the work, two luminous apples and clusters of grapes rest upon a strange, prismatic vessel. Beneath them, intricate mirrored forms gather into something almost figurative—part presence, part apparition—while leaf-like shapes emerge from and recede into the surrounding darkness.

The work moves between still life, landscape and symbolic portrait without settling entirely into any one of them. Familiar forms become slightly uncertain: fruit becomes an offering, a vessel becomes a figure, and the background seems to shift between something natural and something remembered.

I’m drawn to that point where the recognisable begins to feel like something else—where an image seems to carry a meaning we can sense, even if we cannot quite name it. Dreamscape Fruits | Fructus Somniorum belongs to that space: abundant, watchful and quietly strange.
